Skill comparison[]
Attack Skill
- A few attacks spread out from Maxi's location, usually for only one hit per enemy.
- The attack hits about 60% of the path and does not travel as the party walks.
- This seems weak at low levels, but each weapon tier adds 100 percentage points to the bonus. (450% at 3 Stars and +3, 550% at 4 Stars and +3, etc.)
- This becomes quite strong in Duels and the Arena at high levels, because it hits hard and is difficult to dodge.
Ultimate skill
- Numerous projectiles spread out and travel down the screen.
- This seems to miss a lot even though it takes up most of the screen, and the damage is too spread out to be very useful. (You will not be hitting one target with nine lances, for example.)
- It does hit large bosses enough times to be useful.
Passive skill
- Sometimes attacks get a damage bonus.
- This happens several times per mission, but it seems weak compared to other damage-dealing Passive Skills.

Difficult Adventures or Challenges
- Pros:
- Normal attacks penetrate to hit multiple enemies.
- Passive Skill helps with bosses a little bit.
- Cons:
- All three skills are a bit weak for Adventures.
- Overall value: Low
Easy Adventures or Challenges (for farming, grinding, or daily quests)
- Pros:
- Normal attacks penetrate to hit multiple enemies.
- Passive Skill helps with bosses a little bit.
- Cons:
- All three skills are a bit weak for Adventures.
- Overall value: Low
Duels
- Pros:
- Skill Attack is hard to dodge, plus it hits hard at high levels.
- Ultimate Skill, although it often misses, does hit a much wider area than some others.
- Passive Skill does have some effect in Duels.
- Maxi-only helmets have Damage Bonus After Being Hit, which is the most important Duel bonus.
- Cons:
- Not very strong at low levels.
- Skills are still a little weak compared to the best PvP characters, like Vincent or Khan.
- Overall value: High
